| Luckily when I started to travel to Southeast Asia. Paul, Mary Beth & the girls would drive me to LaGuardia Airport. | |||
| I say luckily because the girls had never been to N. Y.. If we hadn't spent the day before my trips touring the "City". they | |||
| never would have had the chance to see the World Trade Center or the view of N. Y. City from the top. | |||
| On my first trip we toured the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Empire State Building took a horse & carriage ride | |||
| through Central Park had dinner in a fantastic restaurant by the airport (the Tavern on Green in the park was closed till | |||
| 5:00 p. m.) and they dropped me at my My hotel. After lots of hugs and Melanie's tears & "Why I can't go with you? | |||

sob, sob." I ended up in my room with a lump in my throat & expectations
of Bangkok & Bali in my mind. I wish they could have gone with me. It was on my second trip that we went to the top of the Twin Towers. We started out with the Statue of Liberty where I took the photo's seen here. After we left the statue we went to the observation deck, then on to the rooftop. The view of the city from up there was spectacular. Looking DOWN on the Empire State Building (Upper Center of photo on lower right.). |

| The girls were really impressed & had lots to tell their friends in school. We really enjoyed everything we did that day: The ferry ride out to the statue, the top of the world trade center, dinner in Chinatown and spending time in Greenwich Village, where we ran into a large group of gays holding a impromptu parade to reclaim the dock area. It seems that the police were, at least in their minds, harassing them in that area of the city. Anyway the girls then ten & twelve wanted to join the parade. Instead we wondered a little further, stopped for coffee/ice cream for the girls, walked back to the car in a mild rain & again I was dropped at my hotel to wait out the night & again "Why I can't go with you? Sob, sob!" from Melanie. | ![]() |

| When flying as a courier your flight almost always departs early in the morning, so your better off if you get a room near the airport. We always made our trips to New York City mini-vacations. | |||
| For More photo's of New York City click Here. I took these photo's as souvenirs for the girls, next time I'll try and get some really good ones for this site. So check back once in awhile. Al. | |||
