The Balinese realize better then anyone that when you put on a mask you assume a part of the character that the mask portrays, that the mask and you become one and both are changed, if only for the time that you are wearing that mask. I didn't even realize that this change could take place till I wore a frog mask to show some children and started to act & feel like a frog. See frog masks second from Left on top row.
