Renaissance Cruises recently filed bankruptcy under chapter 11 & is no longer in business. I left the link as it has information for anyone interested in the legal aspects of the case.

When you book your cruise don't pay in full. Cruise prices change & if you've paid in full you are locked in at that price. Wait till the last moment your permitted to pay, then if the price changes you can renegotiate with the line for the cheaper price. Check adds & the lines web site to keep current of the prices for your cruise.

Cruise ships relocate at different times of the year to be in the right place at the right time. Some Caribbean ships may sail to Europe or from Europe to the Caribbean. Alaskan ships may head for warmer areas for the winter etc. If you make the right contacts you can get these cruises at a reduced rate. I'd contact the lines or a good agent to find out.  Al.

You'll save a lot of money if you take your shore excursions on your own, or even better, with a few friends from your cruise. To do it right you should research the ports of call your ship is going to stop at. Guild books or online information are available to you & with a little reading you should be able to find the places you want to see, things you want to do & places you want to eat at. I find that the research seems to extend my trip as it the anticipation & planning become a part of my sojourn.
