Delaware Flood 2004                                                      Back

On Sept. 16th. Hurricane Ivan slammed ashore in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The strong class four hurricane devastated several southern states with a large storm surge, 130 + mile per hour winds, driving rain & tornadoes, but it didn't stop there. Almost the entire eastern United States felt Ivan's wrath in one way or another.
Tennessee suffered tornadoes and floods, Virginia had up to 30 tornados, and we stood and watched as the Delaware crested at 23.39' 14' above normal, compare this to 28.6' in the flood of 1945. I only took a few photos as you couldn't get into Yardley, New Hope, or Lambertville. but I'll try to get to many of these places over the next few days so check back,  Al
