1. Check before you go: I saw some lovely mounted & framed butterflies and other

insects in Bangkok but didn't buy any because I wasn't sure if I could bring them

back into the States. Upon calling Customs upon my arrival home found out I

could have. I later bought a couple as gifts in Singapore at five times what I

would have paid in Bangkok. See Butterflies

2. Check Customs regulations in the country your visiting before you start to shop.

In Thailand you can't export any antiques or any Buddha figures.
